A bathhouse, a huge swath of sand and a stationed lifeguard make this beach one of the most popular spots for enjoying Lake Michigan. If you’re looking for inland fun, strike out from the beach and hike the Dune Succession Trail—it includes a boardwalk and 250 stairs to a spectacular overlook of the lake. The beach also has covered picnic shelters and grills.
