Passengers are be required to wear a face covering while riding SSL trains and waiting at stations.

South Shore News

The safety of our passengers and employees is the South Shore Line's top priority, which has become especially apparent during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Last week, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker mandated wearing face masks in public when physical social distancing is impractical, which includes traveling on public transportation. Therefore, effective Tuesday, May 5, 2020, passengers will be required to wear a face covering while riding SSL trains and waiting at stations.

The SSL requests that riders abide by the face-covering guidelines as a courtesy to your fellow passengers. By wearing a face covering or mask, you protect yourself as well as your neighboring passengers and those who are considered high-risk.

We thank our passengers for their patience and cooperation during this time. Please visit the Illinois Department of Public Health for further face covering guidelines. http://www.dph.illinois.gov/cov…/community-guidance/mask-use
