SERVICE NOTICE TO WB TRAIN 6 PASSENGERS EFFECTIVE: OCTOBER 19-28, 2016

Due to operating requirements beyond our control the South Shore must temporarily reduce the number of cars on WB Train 6 from 6 to 4 cars beginning October 19.

WB Train 6 arrives in Chicago at 6:55 a.m.  Train 6 typically carries on average 400-450 passengers.

We are reconstructing a grade crossing east of the South Bend Airport reducing emergency access to the east side of the Airport terminal to a single road.  This single access road will be blocked by a 6-car train as it loads and disembarks passengers.  This condition is unacceptable to the South Bend Airport.

Therefore, the South Shore will reduce the number of cars on Train 6 to 4 cars from October 19-28.  However, we will do everything we can to place the maximum number of seats in this 4 car train in order to provide as many seats as possible.  Furthermore our maintenance of way department will do everything they can to accelerate this project so we can return Train 6 to 6 cars as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, the process that must be followed in order to add 2 cars to Train 6 en route would cause it to be late along with trailing Train 106.

The South Shore regrets any inconvenience.
