The South Shore Line announces its holiday train schedule as follows:

Tuesday, Dec. 24 – Regular weekday schedule on Christmas Eve.

Wednesday, Dec. 25 – Weekend/holiday schedule for official observance of Christmas.

Tuesday, Dec. 31 – Regular weekday schedule on New Year’s Eve. Alcohol is prohibited after 7pm; glass bottles are prohibited at all times.

Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020 – Weekend/holiday schedule for official observance of New Year’s Day.

KIDS RIDE FREE Thursday, Dec. 26 through Wednesday, Jan. 1. Up to three kids (13 years and younger) ride free with a paid adult on all trains during this period. This is in addition to the regular Family Fare schedule.

*Reminder: The last car of all rush hour trains between Michigan City and Chicago is a Quiet Car.
