The South Shore Line will operate a weekend/holiday train schedule in observance of
Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2.
Due to holiday events including the Chicago Jazz Festival taking place this week, the
following alcohol restrictions will be in place:
- Thursday & Friday, Aug. 29-30: Alcohol is prohibited on all trains after 7 p.m.
- Saturday & Sunday, Aug. 31-Sept. 1: Alcohol is prohibited on all trains all day.
Glass bottles are prohibited at all times.
NICTD’s administrative offices in Chesterton and Michigan City will be closed Sept. 2 in
observance of the holiday.
