Fall break is right around the corner and the South Shore Line (SSL) is expanding its Kids Ride Free program to include all trains October 15 – October 23, 2026. SSL has selected this promotional time frame to cover a large portion of scheduled fall breaks across the four-county area.
The Kids Ride Free Program allows up to 3 children 13 years of age and under to ride free with a paying adult on off-peak and weekend trains. However, in an effort to help families enjoy fall break, the program will be available on all trains during the promotion.
“We know fall break is a great opportunity for families to get out and enjoy everything our region has to offer,” said Nicole Barker, Chief Experience and Engagement Officer. “Expanding our Kids Ride Free program gives families another reason to hop aboard, try a new destination, and make the South Shore Line part of their fall break plans.”
This fall break promotion is part of the SSL’s ongoing efforts to provide affordable, convenient, and family-friendly transportation.
