To accommodate passengers attending the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2) taking place Aug. 5-7 at McCormick Place, the South Shore Line will be offering select weekday train stops at McCormick Place Station on Friday, Aug. 5.
The South Shore Line announces that it will again offer a “Buy 1 Get 1 Free” promotion, applicable for September monthly tickets. All monthly tickets purchased for the month of September 2022 will remain valid throughout October 2022.
In order to accommodate construction related to the Double Track NWI project, the South Shore Line will bus weekday passengers to stations between Carroll Ave. and Gary/Chicago Airport (Clark Rd.), effective Monday, Aug. 1 through Friday, Aug. 5. The Gary busing is in addition to ongoing busing between Carroll Ave. and Dune Park stations.
The following South Shore Line service updates will be in effect to accommodate passengers attending Lollapalooza, taking place Thursday, July 28, through Sunday, July 31, 2022, in Grant Park.
To accommodate passengers attending The Weeknd concert taking place at 6:30 p.m. July 24, 2022, at Soldier Field, the South Shore Line plans to stop select trains at Metra’s 18th Street Station, which connects passengers directly to the Soldier Field entrance via a pedestrian walkway. As 18th St. Station is not a regularly scheduled stop, SSL passengers utilizing 18th St. for this event should purchase tickets for Museum Campus/11th Street.
