Calling all Bank of America Chicago Marathon runners and observers: The South Shore Line invites you to leave your vehicle at one of our convenient stations in Indiana and take the South Shore Line to Chicago for all Bank of America Chicago Marathon events.
As part of its ongoing commitment to safety, the South Shore Line announces it will host a multi-team emergency preparedness drill on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025, between Tulip Road and Smilax Road in New Carlisle, Ind.
To accommodate passengers attending the Chicago Fire FC match taking place at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, at Soldier Field, the South Shore Line plans to stop select trains at Metra’s 18th Street Station, which connects passengers directly to the Soldier Field entrance via a pedestrian walkway.
In order to accommodate system testing related to the West Lake Corridor Project, the South Shore Line will provide temporary busing substitution for late evening/overnight train passengers overnight Friday, Oct. 3, and overnight Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025. The temporary bus bridge will be in place for all train passengers between 8 p.m. – 3 a.m.,
