South Shore Line passengers are advised that temporary overnight busing between Hegewisch and East Chicago stations has been canceled as of tonight, Oct. 17, 2024. South Shore Line is pleased to announce the new Hammond Gateway Station will open and become operational for train service effective Friday, October 18th, 2024. Inorder to accommodate construction at the current Hammond Station, the South Shore Line will temporarily bus overnight train passengers between 9 p.m. – 4 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 11 and from Sunday, Oct. 13 through early Friday morning, Oct. 18.
