With the continued increase in travelers and commuters returning to activities and work in Chicago, the South Shore Line announces an extension of its current Weekday Eastbound Free Ride promotion. With this extension, weekday (Monday through Friday) eastbound trips will continue to be free throughout the months of November and December 2021.
The South Shore Line plans to bus midday passengers between Gary/Chicago Airport (Clark Rd) and Dune Park stations, effective Monday, Oct. 25 through Wednesday, Oct. 27. The busing is due to third-party utility work related to the Double Track NWI project (https://www.doubletrack-nwi.com/).
As a reminder, the South Shore Line is scheduled to provide extra late train service for the Notre Dame vs. USC football game on Oct. 23, with South Bend Transpo offering free shuttle bus service between the South Bend International Airport and Notre Dame Stadium.
The South Shore Line announces that it will again offer a “Buy 1 Get 1 Free” promotion, applicable for November monthly tickets. All monthly tickets purchased for the month of November 2021 will remain valid throughout December.
