In observance of Memorial Day, the South Shore Line will operate a weekend/holiday train schedule on Monday, May 27, 2024. Alcohol will be prohibited on SSL trains all day Saturday, Sunday and Monday, May 25-27. Please be advised that glass bottles are always prohibited. NICTD administrative offices in Chesterton and Michigan City will be closed
SSL has implemented a new train schedule as of Tuesday, May 14, 2024. With this schedule change, train times for all westbound and eastbound weekend trains have some form of modification. Passengers are advised that busing substitution to stations between Carroll Ave. and Gary Metro Center will be in effect for the following midday trains on Monday, May 13, 2024: Buses will arrive and depart with passengers to match our published weekday train schedule between Carroll Ave. and Gary Metro Center. Buses will service intermediate stations.
Passengers are advised that the western parking lot at Miller Station will be closed for a special event Saturday, May 11, 2024, through Monday evening, May 13.
In order to accommodate construction, the South Shore Line will bus weekday eastbound train passengers between 10 p.m. – 3 a.m. May 6-10 between Hegewisch, Hammond, and East Chicago stations. Effective through 3 a.m. Saturday, May 11, busing includes the following trains: ·Weekday EB Trains 121, 123, 101 (Weekend Tr 601 early morning May 11)
