Take the South Shore Line (SSL) to Chicago as the Cubs make post season history! Even if the game runs into extra innings, SSL has you covered on your trip home!
Chesterton, In - The West Lake Corridor project is one step closer to reality today following the announcement that the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) approved the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District’s (NICTD) request to enter Project Development.
The South Shore Line (SSL) is inviting users to explore its newly-launched website. The new website was created to enhance user experience and further simplify access to vital information like train schedules and updates.
The new website’s modern look and layout make accessing information on desktops and mobile devices quick and easy. And, additional features such as real-time updates and a trip planner make using the SSL even easier for commuters or leisure travelers.
Please join us at one of three upcoming public workshops in early October for our Double Track Northwest Indiana Project.
The South Shore Line passenger service Safety Committee, Operation Lifesaver and Transit Police from the South Shore, CN and IHB kicked-off National Rail Safety Week with a station blitz at Hammond Station and East Chicago Station. From September 11-17, the group promoted crossing safety education with the goal of changing public behavior near the rails and heighten awareness about the dangers associated with grade-crossing collisions and trespassing.
