CHESTERTON, Ind. – The South Shore Line has scheduled additional personnel and all available train cars to provide as much capacity as possible for Friday’s World Series Parade and Rally honoring the Chicago Cubs first Championship in 108 years.
To show gratitude and to say thank you for their service, the South Shore Line (SSL) is inviting all Veterans to ride the train free of charge on November 11 through November 13.
Active military members and veterans are welcome to ride the SSL for free without showing identification. On Veterans Day (Nov. 11) trains will follow the regular weekday service hours.
Due to operating requirements beyond our control the South Shore must temporarily reduce the number of cars on WB Train 6 from 6 to 4 cars beginning October 19.
The South Shore’s bridge replacement work will impact several weekday trains beginning October 13, 2016. Please read the following bulletin for affected trains.
The SSL will provide a CUBS EXTRA train departing Millennium Station 90 minutes following the conclusion of each schedule World Series night game at Wrigley Field. The CUBS EXTRA train will run nonstop to Hegewisch and make all local stops to Michigan City.
