March Monthly Ticket Refund Request Period Extended – Update 4.2

The South Shore Line is aware that many of our passengers were planning to use their March monthly tickets throughout the month of April.

However, due to the continued impact of COVID-19, and the Illinois governor’s extension of the Stay-at-Home order until April 30, we know that many of our riders will now be unable to use their March tickets in April. Therefore, the SSL is going to again offer the opportunity to riders to request a refund for March monthly tickets.

MONTHLY PAPER TICKETS:
To request a pro-rated refund for your March monthly ticket, please mail your ticket and include your name, address, and phone number to the following address:

NICTD
Attention: Laura
503 N. Carroll Ave.
Michigan City, IN  46360-5026

Your letter must be postmarked by April 8, 2020, to be eligible for a refund.

APP ELECTRONIC TICKETS:
To request a pro-rated refund for your digital March/April monthly ticket, please email App Support. You can do this via the app by selecting “More” from the Menu, and “Email App Support” under the “HELP” section.

Your app request must be received by April 8, 2020, to be eligible for a refund.

The SSL will be adhering to its monthly refund policy for ticket usage, which is consistent with other refund policies in the industry.

If you receive your ticket through an employer transit benefit program, such as Wage Works or Commuter Benefit Solutions, your refund will come from that company in the form of a credit. If your ticket was purchased with a credit card, the funds will be returned to the card used.
