To accommodate passengers attending the Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting taking place Feb. 23-25 at McCormick Place, the South Shore Line will be offering select weekday train stops at McCormick Place Station on Thursday, Feb. 23, and Friday, Feb. 24.
To show appreciation to riders, the South Shore Line (SSL) is offering free eastbound rides on Valentine’s Day, February 14th, 2023, on all trains. Riders will be responsible for paying applicable fares on their westbound trips.
The South Shore Line announces the continuation of its “Buy 1 Get 1 Free” promotion, applicable for March monthly tickets. All monthly tickets purchased for the month of March 2023 will remain valid for April 2023.

In order to accommodate construction for the Double Track NWI project, the South Shore Line announces the temporary relocation of the Portage/Ogden Dunes parking lot and bus stop, effective Monday, Jan. 9, 2023, until the project’s completion in spring 2024.
The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning for northern Indiana and a winter storm warning for Chicago that are expected to impact travel the evening of Thursday, Dec. 22, through Saturday, Dec. 24. The notices state that blizzard conditions are expected, with heavy snow and high winds causing blowing and drifting, along with sub-zero wind chills.
