In order to accommodate ongoing work for the Double Track NWI project, the South Shore Line plans to bus midday passengers between Carroll Ave. and Dune Park stations, effective Wednesday, Jan. 19, and Thursday, Jan. 20, with Friday, Jan. 21, being a contingency date.

South Shore Line passengers are advised that the Transportation Security Administration mask order is extended until March 18, 2022. The order mandates the use of masks or face coverings for all SSL passengers and employees, regardless of vaccination status.

To thank local educators for their hard work this school year, SSL is inviting teachers to ride the SSL for free December 22 – 29 on all weekday, weekend, and holiday trains. To ride, educators will need to present a valid school ID.
To accommodate passengers attending the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2) taking place Dec. 10-12 at McCormick Place, the South Shore Line will be offering select weekday train stops at McCormick Place Station on Friday, Dec. 10, as well as an extra eastbound train the afternoon of Saturday, Dec. 11.
