Passengers are advised that the South Shore Line’s Bikes on Trains program terminates for the season at the end of the day on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021. We look forward to resuming the Bikes on Trains program beginning April 1, 2022. The SSL thanks all passengers for a successful bike season.

Weekday Eastbound Free Ride Promotion Extension – Through Dec.31, 2021

With the continued increase in travelers and commuters returning to activities and work in Chicago, the South Shore Line announces an extension of its current Weekday Eastbound Free Ride promotion. With this extension, weekday (Monday through Friday) eastbound trips will continue to be free throughout the months of November and December 2021.

The South Shore Line announces that it will again offer a “Buy 1 Get 1 Free” promotion, applicable for November monthly tickets. All monthly tickets purchased for the month of November 2021 will remain valid throughout December.

9/25/21 Soldier Field/Notre Dame service

To accommodate passengers attending the Notre Dame vs. Wisconsin football game at 11 a.m. CT on Sept. 25, 2021, at Soldier Field, the South Shore Line plans to stop select trains at Metra’s 18th Street Station, which connects passengers directly to the Soldier Field entrance via a pedestrian walkway. As 18th Street Station is not a regularly scheduled stop, SSL passengers utilizing 18th St. for this game should purchase tickets for Museum Campus/11th Street.
