The following South Shore Line service updates will be in effect to accommodate passengers attending Lollapalooza, taking place Thursday, Aug. 1, through Sunday, Aug. 4, 2024, in Grant Park.

To accommodate passengers attending the George Strait concert taking place at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, July 20, at Soldier Field, the South Shore Line plans to stop select trains at Metra’s 18th Street Station, which connects passengers directly to the Soldier Field entrance via a pedestrian walkway.
To thank local educators for their dedication and hard work, SSL is inviting teachers to ride the SSL for free July 22 – 28, 2024, on all off-peak weekday and all weekend trains (off-peak weekday trains arrive at Millennium Station after 9:30 am CST and depart Millennium Station before 3:30 pm and after 6:30 pm
Millennium Station depot switch effective Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14, 2024: Between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, all South Shore Line passengers utilizing Millennium Station will temporarily board/detrain from the Metra Depot (Tracks 5 and 6), located northwest of the SSL platform.
