Free Eastbound Weekend Rides
To show appreciation for passengers as we celebrate the holidays, all weekend eastbound trips will be free on Saturday, Dec. 17, and Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022. Passengers should simply board weekend eastbound trains with no ticket purchase necessary Dec. 17-18. Please do not activate mobile tickets for eastbound weekend trips; passengers will be responsible for paying all applicable fares on weekend westbound trips Dec. 17-18.
Holiday Train Schedule
· Sat., Dec. 24 – SSL operates a weekend/holiday schedule on Christmas Eve.
· Sun., Dec. 25 – SSL operates a weekend/holiday schedule on Christmas Day.
· Mon., Dec. 26 – SSL operates a weekend/holiday schedule on Dec. 26 (Christmas Day observed).
· Sat., Dec. 31 – SSL operates a weekend/holiday schedule on New Year’s Eve. Alcohol is prohibited all day; glass bottles are prohibited at all times.
· Sun., Jan. 1, 2023 – SSL operates a weekend/holiday schedule on New Year’s Day.
· Mon., Jan. 2, 2023 – SSL operates a weekend/holiday schedule on Jan. 2 (New Year’s Day observed).
Ticket Office Schedule – If ticket office is closed please purchase from ticket vending machine, South Shore mobile app, or onboard the train (cash only).
· Saturday/Sunday/Monday Dec. 24-25-26 and Dec. 31-Jan. 1-2 – All ticket offices will be closed except Millennium Station (holiday hours: 9:35am-5:00pm). NICTD administrative offices in Chesterton and Michigan City will be closed.
