To accommodate passengers attending the Chicago Fire FC match taking place at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Soldier Field, the South Shore Line will serve Metra’s 18th Street Station, which connects passengers directly to the Soldier Field entrance via a pedestrian walkway.
As 18th St. Station is not a regularly scheduled stop, SSL passengers utilizing 18th St. for this event should purchase tickets for Museum Campus/11th Street.
BUSING IN EFFECT: South Shore Line passengers are advised busing substitution between Millennium Station and 18th St. will be in place on Saturday, May 2, and Sunday, May 3, 2026, due to construction in Chicago. There will be NO SERVICE to Museum Campus or Van Buren Street stations on May 2 and May 3, 2026.
Passengers attending the Chicago Fire match on May 2 will not be impacted by the busing. Train service between 18th St. Station and Indiana stations operates as scheduled; however, please be advised all westbound SSL train passengers will disembark at 18th Street on May 2, and all eastbound SSL train passengers will be boarding trains at 18th Street on May 2.
Due to the busing substitution, ALL South Shore Line westbound and eastbound weekend trains will service 18th St. Station on May 2, 2026. More information here.
