Executive Session – 10:00 A.M.
The Board of Trustees of the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District will meet in Executive Session on Monday, March 28, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. in the Board Room of the Administrative Office of the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District, 33 East U.S. Hwy. 12, Chesterton, Indiana. Pursuant to Resolution 21-10, members of the Board of Trustees and necessary staff may participate in the meeting electronically.
South Shore Line passengers are advised that the Transportation Security Administration mask order is extended until April 18, 2022. The order mandates the use of masks or face coverings for all SSL passengers and employees, regardless of vaccination status.
In order to accommodate an expected increase in ridership due to the Chicago St. Patrick’s Day Parade and dyeing of the river, the South Shore Line will offer additional capacity and extra passenger trains on Saturday, March 12, 2022.
In order to accommodate a scheduled rail delivery in relation to the Double Track NWI project, the South Shore Line will bus midday passengers between Carroll Ave. and Gary/Chicago Airport (Clark Rd.) stations, effective today, March 7 through Thursday, March 10. The Gary busing is in addition to ongoing busing between Carroll Ave. and Dune Park stations.
In order to accommodate construction for the Double Track NWI project, the South Shore Line announces it is implementing a long-term busing schedule for passengers between Dune Park and Carroll Ave. stations.
