The South Shore Line is pleased to share that we will offer special service for certain upcoming events. Please note that specific details will be released approximately two weeks ahead of each event. We will provide those details here as well as in the News section of our website, and on social media platforms.

Holidays that fall on a Saturday or Sunday will use the Weekend/Holiday schedule.  

The South Shore Line weekend/holiday schedule is in effect during the official observance of the following:

Thursday, January 1, 2026 (New Year’s Day Holiday) 

Monday, May 25, 2026 (Memorial Day Holiday) 

Saturday, July 4, 2026 (Independence Day Holiday) 

Monday, September 7, 2026 (Labor Day Holiday) 

Thursday, November 26, 2026 (Thanksgiving Holiday) 

Friday, November 27, 2026 (Day After Thanksgiving)

Thursday, December 24, 2026 (Christmas Eve)

Friday, December 25, 2026 (Christmas Holiday) 

Thursday, December 31, 2026 (New Year’s Eve)

Friday, January 1, 2027 (New Year’s Day Holiday) 

NOTE: If New Year’s Day, Independence Day, or Christmas Day fall on a Sunday, we operate a weekend/holiday schedule on the following Monday.

The SSL operates a regular weekday schedule on the following holidays (if the holiday falls on a weekday): Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Good Friday, Juneteenth, Columbus Day, Halloween, Veteran’s Day.
